Years ago, in a familiar church tower, the Venom symbiote was spurned by Peter Parker and found a willing host in the vengeful and wrathful Eddie Brock! Or, at least, that’s the story you know! From rising stars JEREMY HOLT (MARVEL’S VOICES: SPIDER-VERSE) and JESÚS HERVÁS (MARVEL: UNLEASHED) comes an ALL-NEW look at what makes the Marvel Universe’s most sinister symbiote tick, with a journey that reimagines its earliest days bonded to a host with a rage and temper ENTIRELY different from those of Eddie Brock!

After a vicious cycle of amnesia riddled nighttime play and exhausted work days, She Hulk’s new symbiotic lifestyle transforms her into the homeless Central Park boogeyman. Who is the little birdie that sent Sabertooth and his screeching belt? What does Jake Lockley’s appearance under the Moonlit Knight mean for our hulking beauty? How will the boss in Chinatown react to Wolverine’s snikt snikt SNIKT and piercing questions?

    Un Cómic Más

The comic has an interesting narrative as we see how She-Hulk suffers from a remorse that he cannot stop due to Venom’s unbridled hunger.

The art has oil-like strokes that give it a very real look and gives Venom’s viscosity a great look.

The What If…? line of comics is alive and well in What If…?: Venom #1. The fact that it’ll naturally spin into different characters taking on the Symbiote is exciting and this issue is proof enough Holt and the art team are making sure we have a blast.

What If…?: Venom #1 doesn’t exactly challenge the imagination with it’s basic alternate history tale, but it does present a unique take on She-Hulk brilliantly brought to life by the artist and colorist.

What If…?: Venom looks to take Marvel’s usual alternate universe concept and mash it together with everybody’s favorite cannibalistic symbiotic. What If: Venom #1 merges Venom with with She-Hulk rather than Eddie Brock, and but instead of keeping the story squarely in the 80s during Venom’s initial arrival we quickly see a time jump where Venom’s ability to overtake Jennifer Walter’s body at night derails her life, eventually leaving her homeless. Unfortunately, the book never wants to dig any deeper than that. There’s no indication that Jen is either for or against being bonded with Venom until after the timeskip and the fact that she’s a Hulk never plays a factor in the psychology between She-Hulk and Venom. All we have is a green Venom.
