    But Why Tho?

Avengers #12 forces the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to help their friends. The relationship between the core teams of the Marvel Universe has always been worth exploring. Creators keep them out of each others’ way most of the time to simplify the storytelling. The heroes will wait until the best moment to step in. When they are at their worst, the mutual respect leads them to help. How MacKay has dealt with the Orchis situation in the Avengers series makes this issue, in particular, far more effective and impactful. It shows the power of the group and the damage they can cause when they get involved. Even though it ties into Fall of The House of X, Avengers #12 feels entirely like an Avengers comic.

    The Super Powered Fancast

The Story: MacKay delivers on what I have been waiting on as a reader. With everything happening with the mutants, I was waiting to see how the Avengers would step in and it is handled brilliantly to play on their strengths individually and as a team. I like the side story as well with their newest threat and his connection to the team. It will be interesting to see what happens next with his plans for the Avengers and their response to it.

The Art: Mortarino delivers some great art in the issue. There is a lot of action throughout this issue and every moment is given wonderful visual flair.

    Comic Watch

Avengers #12 is a stellar tie-in to the ongoing X-Men comics that expands on the global war against Orchis while allowing the protagonists to shine as noble and capable heroes.

Earth’s Mightiest Heroes finally join the X-Men’s fight against Orchis amidst the “Fall of X.” Tony Stark and the X-Men’s scheming has mostly taken place in Invincible Iron Man, but it’s time for Marvel’s ongoing Avengers series to tie-in. What’s helpful about this type of tie-in is it takes the main story beats and adapts them to the Avengers title, focusing on M.O.D.O.K. and 3-D MAN as Orchis antagonists. The Avengers work well together, and the issue even references events in the new Captain Marvel series.
