COMICONIssue after issue, Spider-Punk continues to be a visual and emotional feast that perfectly blends superheroes and real-world issues into a powerful fun mix that packs quite the proverbial punch. Truly if one was trying to choose a list of series that are the epitome of what comics can and should be, this is a series that would be on the list no questions asked.
ComicBook.comSpider-Punk takes a dark turn this week with issue four as our ragtag teen heroes confront danger unlike any they've seen before. After a foe from the past comes around once more, all bets are off as Spider-Punk and his anarchist gang try to take down the corporate greed gridlocking their world. But after a few moves go wrong, the issue ends with a bloody reminder of how far giants will go to demonstrate their power upon the masses.
Weird Science Marvel ComicsSpider-Punk #4 gives up on any attempts to be punk, edgy, or interesting by shifting into an all-out propaganda piece equating Norman Osborn as a fascist, racist despot with a former U.S President. The writing is poor on every level except the pacing, and the only punk thing about this title is the grungy, underground art style, but just barely.
