Welcome to Metropolis, where crime is at an all-time low thanks to it being under the watchful eye of Superman – a.k.a. the perfect place for two henchpeople scientists a.k.a. This is an issue with a lot of twists and a much darker tone than the rest of the series. Can’t wait to see how this final arc sets Marcus up for the future of the DCU. - 84

I'll definitely be picking up the next issue. Supergirl really shone here. And if it is just as good, maybe I'll seek out the older issues too! - 80

Weird Science DC Comics
Monkey Prince #9 brings the titular character and his family to Metropolis for the last leg of the limited run to kick off an arc that digs deeper into Marcus's family tree and makes the Big Bad a formal presence in the story. While King Fire Bull is an intriguing character, and the art looks (mostly) great, the story is overwhelmed with chaotic happenings and random character appearances for a somewhat enjoyable but sloppy read. - 60

Monkey Prince #9 feels very much like a completely different title than the issues before it. It's more cohesive, a lot darker, and the stakes feel very high – not to mention the humor finally hits just exactly the way you expect it to and it works. The problem is that the story just sort of happens.
