Cover your neck, grab some garlic, and hope the sun comes out soon because Brooklyn’s got a bit of a vampire problem in the moody and fun Miles Morales: Spider-Man #11. Every bit of the issue hits the right notes for this type of story, with visuals doing the rougher horror tropes justice as the guest stars slide in so smoothly.

I appreciate that this book is adopting the “mentor/guest-star of the week” formula. When the series launched it was Misty Knight taking the young Spider-Man under her metal arm, now it’s Blade and his daughter Brielle teaming up with Miles for some vampire-hunting action. Hightail’s profile continues to rise, especially with what happens to her by the end of the issue.

The Story: A fun, fast paced and entertaining story with a Halloween twist. Miles teaming up with Blade is an interesting ride for fans and I really liked the energy and the frenetic, action packed pace of the story. Ziglar delivers some entertaining thrills and a fun little arc that makes me intrigued to see what happens next.

The Art: Mancin delivers fantastic art throughout the issue. The imagery perfectly captures the frenzied, action filled tone of the story.
