Ryan Quackenbush’s artwork has been a highlight of this limited series, but this issue doesn’t give him as much to work with. It’s a confusing tale to begin with, and it requires great visuals to elevate it. The illustrations in this issue are good, just not great, so the book suffers.

I’d have a much better time with Junior Baker if I flipped through just the art and tried to determine what story was being told without any dialogue directing me. Like I’ve said before in reviews of previous issues, a story trying so hard to do so many heady things at once will appeal to some, but not very many.
