It only took me the better part of a full year to believe, but Immortal Sergeant #9 sticks the landing--and it sticks the landing hard. Though much of the title was a miserable story featuring a miserable man, that miserable man eventually shows us the reasons why he is the way he is. It's definitely a slog to get through at first, but Immortal Sergeant #9 isn't only the brightest part of this story, but it's an epic endcap to a human-driven story.
