At the end of the issue, is a cliffhanger involving a villain who has now been awakened. I am really curious how they will handle it in the next issue. I really enjoyed this issue, it’s really awesome to divert for at least one issue, on a different topic like vampires. I cannot wait to read what is next. I really hope that also, Blade shows up in a different issue, because I would love to see him again.

A whole new crop of issues have arisen for Miles Morales as he navigates a dangerous world and faces a semi recent “old” foe as Miles Morales: Spider-Man flings the title right into the Blood Hunt summer event. The title keeps it’s head above the choppy waters of an event pretty easily, by not letting go of the qualities which led to its success.

Ultimately, Miles Morales: Spider-Man #21 is a bit of a mixed bag. It features some great artwork and a struggle for Miles’ soul, but I’m not sure if it’s telling the right story. But then again, the next issue could be an improvement.

Cody Ziglar’s writing is top-notch as always, weaving together multiple plot threads and character arcs that span developments from the main Blood Hunt line and Miles’ own ongoing.

We get a flashback to what happened when and after Blade turned Miles Morales into a vampire. There’s some interesting storylines to follow in Blood Hunt and Miles is involved in one of the more important ones. They also bring in familiar faces like Hightail and Lord R’ym’r.
