Fables #160 storms out of the gate with the long-awaited fight between Peter Pan and Bigby, while Snow and the cubs are left to deal with Tinkerbell. This was the epitome of Fables “going big” with the too long build-up being worth the very epic feel and danger of all the fights. While the Fables epilogue does take a bit of the suspense out of this story (since we know who lives and who dies), this was perhaps the closest we’ve gotten to “classic” Fables since the series came back.

The long wait between issues and the decompressed plot hurts this season’s momentum a bit, but overall I think it’s a superior final act to the previous finale.

    DC Comics News

Fables #160 brings some of the plot threads together as Pan’s villainy seems to hold no bounds. Tink’s reluctance as his ally continues to be an interesting idea while also suggesting ideas of master and servant that will hopefully be explored in the final chapters of “The Black Forest.” Additionally, as Cinderella is proved right, she suffers consequences of not being “political” which brings up another subtle commentary. As always, the art team brings the world of Fables alive.
