I’ve been a huge fan of the Millar World titles since Hit-Girl’s solo adventures. Big Game has been easily the best event book from any company in the last decade. Filled with shocks, massive action sequences and fan-pleasing heroic moments, this epic delivered big time.

BIG GAME #5 is a flawless finish for a practically perfect crossover mini-series. Everything about Mark Millar’s script screams action, excitement, and adventure, and Larraz’s art is inspired. BIG GAME truly is the superhero event of the year.

This story not only closes this event, it also offers the evolution of several characters, refreshing itself in an intelligent way. What began as the Millarworld massacre transforms into a master class in how to write an ensemble or crossover comic, Mark Millar moves your emotions, he will leave you breathless page after page without leaving you any other option than to continue reading. Pepe Larraz achieves the most dynamic fight sequences of this series to date, with an impressive amount of detail where he captures the essence of all these Millarworld characters. Pepe outdid himself in each of the pages of this comic, overflowing with details and dynamism.

The Story: Millar brings this story to a bombastic, explosive and truly cinematic conclusion that brings together every character I love from Millar’s pantheon of stories. I loved every moment, fight, quip and reveal within this issue and every moment was truly satisfying for fans of the characters and their worlds. I would absolutely love to see more crossover events like this one in the future. The Art: Larraz delivers some of the best action I’ve seen in comics in a long time. The visuals truly capture some breathtaking moments both with the action and the characters.

This is a satisfying conclusion to Mark Millar’s first-ever crossover event to feature all of the heroes and villains that he has created over the years. I really enjoyed the time travel element and how Hit Girl uses it to even the odds. I also enjoyed the sequence between Cordelia Moonstone and Kick-Ass and how that sort of sets things up for The Magic Order to come from out of the shadows. Overall. This has been an enjoyable series and I look forward to whatever other crossover events that Millar comes up with.
