“Crack-Up!: Part One” is a great example of why I look forward to this book each month. Despite looking like a “kids’ show”, the storytelling has a lot of payoffs for longtime fans and offers classic versions of the characters we love. Kubina makes Templeton’s art spring to vivid life and all the dialogue rings true, particularly Joker’s. Grab a bowl of your favorite Saturday morning cereal and give this issue a read! The Story: Burnett and Dini craft a really great story in this issue. I love how Joker is being used within it, but the best part is that it isn’t really about him. The side story is extremely compelling and a great way to introduce a new series of characters into the universe without sacrificing story. I look forward to seeing how this story develops. The Art: Templeton delivers great art throughout the issue. I love the look of the series and how it maintains the style of the animated series while elevating it in visually fun and engaging ways. - 90

Batman: The Adventures Continue Season Three #3 is a good expansion upon DCAU lore, exploring new characters and further connecting Batman the animated series to the rest of the DC animated universe. It also explores new characters and brings back minor characters from the show. Beyond that, there is a new iteration of the Suicide Squad, no doubt to be explored more in future issues. Original series artist Ty Templeton returns from a health sabbatical to draw a story focusing on Joker’s new #2 Straightman—a hulking brute with seemingly supernatural strength and absolutely no sense of humor.
