    The Super Powered Fancast

The Story: Kelly and Lanzing continue to craft an entertaining story with two heroes that have always been part of a team, but have rarely been paired with each other. It’s interesting to see the interactions between the two of them and their conflict makes for some great dramatic moments. I like that the story is evolving to showcase the secrets Arthur keeps as king and how those secrets will affect his partnership with the Flash. I am excited to see where the story goes next.

The Art: Georgiev delivers some great art in the issue. The visual style is unique and adds some interesting and visually dynamic action to the issue.

Aquaman and The Flash: Voidsong #2 strikes the perfect balance between narrative progression and character exploration. Georgiev’s artwork does an excellent job illustrating how the heroes’ strategies are different, but their punchline remains the same. Additionally, Beredo’s colors perfectly capture the balance between our heroes’ bright colors and the Void’s darkness.

    Weird Science DC Comics

Aquaman / The Flash: Voidsong #2 may be the best comic we’ve read from Kelly and Lanzing. Despite the double-sized issue, the pacing moves like lightning, the character interactions are engaging, the action is intense, the plot drops more than one surprise, and the art is great.

    Comic Watch

A uniquely entertaining comic that’s almost like a big summer movie: tons of action, it looks great, it’s very intriguing, and has a healthy dose of humor. You better grab this one!

    Geek Dad

While this is a stand-alone series that seems to take place on the fringes of continuity, the creative team does a great job of making it feel like an event.

    ComicBook.com

This is truly a great issue and while there are some small details that feel just a touch cliche at times, the sum of the parts here is just a really strong story.

Next month is the conclusion of this mini-series. The short run, character interplay and big action sequences have made this a fun diversion for Aquaman and Flash fans.
