Comic Watch
A STRONG book in the series and my favorite so far. We have enough adjectives in the review on how strong this creative team is. Plain and simple, Above Snakes is a series you should be reading. - 85
Multiversity Comics
The main storyline takes a slight pause, but the bond between the two protagonists is displayed to keep the reader clamoring for more. - 80

Speck proves to be a very capable provider of comedic relief in Above Snakes #3. As he and his revenge-bound companion Dirt move through lonely forests, Speck seeks out romantic companionship. What follows is a wonderfully absurd fusion of avian mating habits fused with the inane illogic of ghosts, including costuming and songs. The ultimate effect is to separate Dirt's existence from reality as he lives in an altered state; the twist is that Dirt isn't the only person living in an altered state. Above Snakes continues to deliver single issue reads that are quite satisfying in their own right, providing brief arcs, but issue #3 is an excellent reminder as to how those smaller pieces are adding up and building towards something even more compelling.
